Current release window
The official Steam store lists a Q4 2026 Early Access window. A specific day has not been announced, so dates shown by databases that use December 31 as a placeholder should not be treated as confirmation. Lead designer Ez Jämsen said in the July 2026 Closed Beta press kit that the team was heading into the final stages of development and that Frostrail had gained almost 500,000 Steam wishlists since reveal.

- Timing and scope can change during development

Closed Beta before Early Access

What the full version is planned to add
The official Early Access statement describes the launch version as a stable foundation and the full version as a deeper game with more biomes, unique locations, dungeons, varied loot, craftable items and weapons, train upgrades, and co-op situations. These are development goals rather than a dated delivery roadmap.
- More biomes and locations
- More dungeons and varied loot
- More item, weapon, and train progression
- More co-op scenarios
- Polish, balance, performance, and bug fixes
